世界中で大人気のサバイバルファンタジーかというと、読む限りでは、そこまでのドキドキはない。私の印象は、いくつかの絵本を混ぜてお話にまで変化したという感じである。ただ、最近のファンタジー映画の予告を見ていると、この本が映画になったときがありありと想像でき、「あぁ、映画になると面白いかもなぁ」と思う。ストーリーにあまりひねりもなく素直なので、きちんと映像化されると「子どもと一緒に楽しめるドキドキ物」になりそう。読んで楽しむとすると、絵本では物足りなくなったファンタジー好きの子どもにちょうどいい感じです。

This book was the 2nd book from the serices of Spiderwick Chronical so you need to read the 1st serices of Spiderwick Chronicals. This book is a great book if you read the 1st sercies of book because on the 2nd book, it has more adventure and many mysteries.
There are many adventures and many mysteries and many new things to see, find and learn about the book.
There are new things, new creatures which there are many things which has many adventures. On this book, there are new character/new creature which is a really strange goblin and an frog shaped creature.
I hope this book is really fun for you. Now get this book and read it.

The author really knows how to write creepy stories. It makes you want to sleep with one eye open. There is nothing cutesy like Harry Potter and or ridiculously dumb like the “So You Want to Be a Wizard” series. This is more in the vein of Lemony Snicket. It just squeezes into the realm of possibilities. However it takes an evil mind to write these chronicles. One good advantage is that they are short and to the point enough to holds your attention and them be over before you realized what happened.
By now you are familiar with Mallory, Jared and his young twin brother, Simon. We also know about the discovery of The Field Guide. After the introduction of Brownie named Thimbletack we also need to reevaluate the statements of Aunt Lucinda.
The cat is missing. Naturally the siblings ignore Thimbletack’s warning about The Field Guide. Yep, tasty Simon has been kidnapped by unseen goblins. Now his brother and sister must save him before he becomes Goblin Chow. To do this they must first obtain “The Seeing Stone.”
Will they save Simon?
What creatures will they encounter?
Why is Mallory all wet?
What is that aroma of roasting …?

読めば分かるんですが、副題の魔法の石の扱いが、実にぞんざいでした。
続巻にて、もってお重みのある小道具となっていくのでしょうか？
話は直線的で、起伏はあっても意外性は皆無でした。
１巻は主要登場人物の紹介という感でしたが、この２巻は敵役の紹介という感じです。“世界中で人気のサバイバルファンタジー”と銘打たれていますが、正直、サバイバルというほどの危機感はありませんでした。
一応、見極めるためにも最終５巻まで付き合うつもりです。
シリーズ第二作、パワーアップしています

第一巻は、妖精の存在の有無から話が始まりますが、二作目は違います。明確に存在する妖精たち。種類もトロール、ゴブリン、ホブゴブリンと多彩に出場します。何より面白いのは、二巻は活劇があり、はらはらドキドキの連続なのです。妖精たちと、戦いあり、駆け引きありで、一度読み始めたら止まりません。また、ポイントとなる魔法の石、これが主人公ジャレッドたちにとって何を意味するのか、それもみどころの一つです。優れた翻訳による文章と緻密なイラストで、読者は世界に惹き込まれていくでしょう。
1巻を上回る面白さ!!!

Spiderwickシリーズ第2冊目。ふとしたことで手に入れた妖精の観察手引きが、姉弟を更なるトラブルに巻き込みます。妖精にさらわれてしまったSimonを救うために、主人公のJaredは姉のMalloryと二人きりで夕闇の中、森へと向かいます。果たして無事妖精の手からSimonを取り戻すことができるのか!?
第2巻のストーリーは1冊目をはるかに凌ぐ盛り上がりと面白さです。第2巻ではさらに、ハリーポッター等でおなじみの妖精たちが登場。そしてLastでは思いもかけない動物が、、、
1冊目と同様、それほど英語はそれほど難しくありません。量も多くないので手軽に読めます。凝った本の作りも前作と同様。唯一の問題は3巻以降がまだ出ていないことだけ、、、
